Hello hello, welcome to episode 9 of this year’s NaPodPoMo series ! We continue our voyage through the various tracks that reached the top spot of the CCHits.net weekly chart, and today, we’re going back to France, to Toulouse to be precise, the city that ProleteR calls home.
ProleteR takes samples of old songs, sometimes a whole song, adds drum and bass and lots of other cool stuff on top of that, and the result is a very nice piece of electro-swing, or electro-jazz, or whatever you want to call it. The name doesn’t matter, the result is just great !
The track today is called “My Melancholy Baby”, it’s a remix of a popular song originally published in 1912, which was played in many movies between 1940 and 1960.
Closer to us, it’s on the 19th of july 2015 that ProleteR’s remix placed itself at the top of the CCHits’ chart.
If you like that track, then first, go vote for it on CCHits.net, and then go to ProleteR’s Bandcamp page, where you will find all of his music for a “pay what you want” price. You can also visit his Facebook page, or follow him on Twitter, the links are, of course, is in the show notes, over at frenchguy.ch
Talking about my site, I have change the landing page. You now have a link to the podcast feed, that you can add to you podcatcher of choice to never miss an episode, and you also have a list of the previous tracks that were played on the show. I think it’s less distracting like that, rather than have a list of blog. Let me know what you think, firstname.lastname@example.org is the email to send your message to. You can also send me questions and/or comments, or comment directly on the site.
That’s it for today, come back tomorrow for more Creative Commons music, until then, take care of yourselves, ciao ciao !
